Practice Speaking Words Aloud

When you’re learning to speak Spanish, it’s important to actually speak it. It’s easy to get caught up in using study methods that just require you to write out your answers, but try saying them as you write them. Even if you are reading by yourself, try reading the material aloud so you can practice your pronunciation.

Being able to read and write Spanish is part of the learning process, but so is learning how to pronounce the words. If you have Spanish-speaking friends, they can be a great source to practice on. Don’t worry about making a mistake or sounding foolish, everyone who speaks Spanish had to learn how to pronounce the words at some point just like you.

Use Flashcards

Flashcards are a fantastic study tool. They are easy to use and efficient. Make flashcards for all of the Spanish words or phrases that you are having a hard time remembering and you’ll improve your Spanish in no time.

Take Classes

There are an extensive amount of apps and online programs to help you learn Spanish, however, they are not an adequate substitution for a Spanish class. Taking a class means that you will be provided with learning materials, a teacher, and classmates.

When you take a class, you can be sure that the materials they are using have worked for students before you and that the teachers have had success teaching other students to speak Spanish. Even your classmates are a good source of information and can make great study buddies.

Studio Español in Detroit offers all levels of Spanish classes. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced student — Studio Español can teach you Spanish. Our teachers have a proven track record of helping students learn Spanish, view our testimonials written by past students.

Partner Up

One of the best tips and tricks that we can give you to learn Spanish, is to find a partner and help each other study. Choosing someone that you get along with in your class to study with is a great way to start.

When you partner up with a fellow Spanish student, you will find that you both have different strengths and weaknesses. Having a person who is not your teacher explain a subject that you are having trouble understanding can make a world of difference.

Read and Listen to Spanish-Spoken Entertainment

If you are learning Spanish, you might as well have some fun with it. Watch movies and television that are in Spanish. You can even put the English subtitles on to help you through the parts that you don’t understand yet.

Listen to music and read books that are all in Spanish. You can even start with children’s books if you are a beginner. The most important thing is to emerge yourself in the language and hear it or read it from native-Spanish speakers.

Hire a Spanish Tutor

If you are in a class or trying to learn Spanish on your own, hiring a private Spanish tutor can make all the difference. You will receive one-on-one attention that cannot be matched in a classroom setting. When you hire a tutor, there is much less anxiety than in a class. You don’t have to stand up in front of 10 or 20 other students and read aloud from a book!
